Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor Crossover

Welcome Red Cross Instructor Candidates!

With the recent American Heart Association Heartsaver price increases many CPR & First Aid instructors are looking for a good option to the AHA program. Like you, many have chosen the American Red Cross!

If you are a current CPR/AED/First Aid instructor for another national brand, but are interested in being grandfathered as a Red Cross instructor please complete the following steps:

1. Obtain and review First Aid/CPR/AED course materials.
These materials are available in digital format free of charge on the First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Candidates page located at:

Download and review the following items:

2. Complete the online CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor Crossover course.
Copy and paste this link into your browser:

The link above will take you to a Red Cross Learning Center login page. Login if you already have Learning Center account, otherwise click on the "New User" link at the top of the page (be sure to disable popup blockers).

Click “Place Order” button at the bottom of the “Create Order” page.

Complete the course by clicking on the "Launch Content" link under the "Order Items" on the "Registration Confirmation" page.

3. Submit course completion paperwork to Training Center 911.

Send a copy of your Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor Crossover course completion certificate and a copy of each of your current instructor cards to Training Center 911 at:

Training Center 911 will submit these to the Red Cross and you will be informed when your instructor credentials have been approved.

Approximately 2-3 days after approval you will receive an email from the Red Cross inviting you to set up your Instructors Corner account. On Instructors Corner you will find information on and materials for conducting Red Cross courses.
